SFI® Certification

Swanson Group Inc. participates in and is committed to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® program. Swanson Group Inc. and its wholly owned Swanson Group Mfg. LLC promote sustainable forestry practices throughout its operations and contribute to the continuous improvement of science through research. In addition, Swanson Group takes its commitment beyond the bounds of our own operations by working with suppliers and other forest landowners to broaden the practice of sustainable forestry.

With our commitment to the SFI program, we have certified our wood fiber procurement system according to its strict standards. We have also taken the steps necessary to carry the SFI program label on our products, which will make them more appealing to green building customers. We will work with our suppliers and forest landowners to promote SFI principles and goals.

For those not familiar with the SFI program it is a comprehensive set of principles, objectives, performance measures, and indicators that promote sustainable management.

Consumers today are concerned about the effects products they use may have on the environment. They want to be reassured that the products they use aren't causing irreparable harm to our planet. Swanson Group Inc has always believed in responsible stewardship of our natural resources and has adhered to the tenets of the Oregon Forest Practices Act since its inception in 1972. Today with the added endorsement of the SFI program anyone buying Swanson Group forest products can be assured they are buying products that have been manufactured with the sustainability of our resources and the best interests of our environment in mind.
