Dean Resources, LLC, a Swanson Group company, construction is now complete on a state-of-the-art wood pellet mill in Oakland, Oregon, with operations beginning towards the end of 2025, and production began at the beginning of 2026. Dean Resources was founded with sustainability at its core, providing a practical solution to a longstanding challenge in the wood products industry: managing wood waste.

By utilizing residual wood fiber from local sawmills—material that would otherwise be underutilized or discarded—Dean Resources transforms by-products into a valuable, renewable energy source. The mill will produce industrial-grade wood pellets, a green alternative used in large-scale energy production, helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

The finished pellets will be sold to Oregon Pellet Mills, LLC, a Swanson Group-affiliated company in Coos Bay, Oregon, which will distribute them to international markets seeking cleaner energy solutions.
