Dean Resources, LLC, a Swanson Group company, is completing construction on a state-of-the-art wood pellet mill in Oakland, Oregon, with operations set to begin in Summer 2025. Dean Resources was founded with sustainability at its core, providing a practical solution to a longstanding challenge in the wood products industry: managing wood waste.

By utilizing residual wood fiber from local sawmills—material that would otherwise be underutilized or discarded—Dean Resources transforms by-products into a valuable, renewable energy source. The mill will produce industrial-grade wood pellets, a green alternative used in large-scale energy production, helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

The finished pellets will be sold to Oregon Pellet Mills, LLC, a Swanson Group-affiliated company in Coos Bay, Oregon, which will distribute them to international markets seeking cleaner energy solutions.
